HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Programme

This Programme has the following Objectives
a) To identify and highlight and address HIV and AIDS related injustices against Orphans
and Vulnerable Children and their parents and Guardians
b) Increasing awareness, prevention, control and care support interventions on HIV and
AIDS
c) To Support initiatives and awareness programmes empowering children living with HIV
and AIDS youth and most vulnerable groups
d) To build strategic relationships with partners skilled in HIV and AIDS

Programme Activities

a) Development and dissemination of key message through the mass media targeting
members of the Public
b) Abstinence and faithfulness information, education and communication/Behaviour
change communication campaigns focused on orphans and vulnerable children
c) Training on abstinence and faithfulness components of prevention of HIV/AIDS for
schools, youth out- of –schools, community leaders and religious leaders
d) Establishment of anti-AIDS peer support clubs
e) Information, education and communication IEC/behaviour change communication BCC
campaigns and materials focused on orphans and vulnerable children including Music dance
and drama and sensitizations
